Lanna Semel and Eugene Hertzberg were married Sept. 14 at the Harmonie Club, a private social club in New York. Rabbi Nicole Auerbach officiated.
Mrs. Hertzberg, 35, is a senior associate at Gensler, a global design and architecture firm in New York. From 2005 to 2007 she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Federated States of Micronesia, where she taught English at an elementary school in the small village of Saladak on the island of Pohnpei. She graduated from Connecticut College and received a master’s degree in architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture.
She is a daughter of Doreen Semel and Joel Semel of Chappaqua, N.Y. The bride’s father is the vice president for finance at Stonewall Farm, a thoroughbred horse breeder in Granite Springs, N.Y. Her mother is the president of the board of advisers of the Westchester, Rockland and Fairfield divisions of the American Cancer Society and is also the oncology patient navigator at CareMount Medical in Mount Kisco, N.Y.
Mr. Hertzberg, 40, is a lawyer in New York. He graduated from Emory and received a master’s degree in strategic communications from Columbia. He received a law degree from Syracuse.
He is the son of Lea Hertzberg and Howard Hertzberg of New York. The groom’s mother is a teacher and educator for children with special needs at Montessori Family School in New York. His father is a retired administrative law judge in New York for workers’ compensation.
The couple met in 2012 through JDate.
