Kimberly Aylin Harris and Gilbert Godfrey Campbell III are to be married Oct. 13 at the JW Marriott Resort and Spa in Las Vegas. The Rev. Dr. Gilbert G. Campbell Jr., a Baptist minister and father of the groom, is to officiate.
The bride, 37, works in Washington as a regional president of Compass Real Estate, a real estate technology company based in New York. She graduated from the University of Michigan and received a law degree from Columbia.
She is the daughter of Umran B. Harris and Marvin T. Harris of Las Vegas. The bride’s father retired as a civil engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers in Chicago. Her mother, who is also retired, was an owner, along with Mr. Harris, of Harrisco Sweets, a snack shop and food concessions company in Chicago.
The groom, 39, is a founder of Volt Energy, a Washington-based solar development firm that builds, operates and maintains solar energy systems for commercial, industrial, government and educational institutions. He graduated from Howard University.
He is the son of Shirley R. Campbell of Alexandria, Va., and Dr. Campbell of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The groom’s mother, who is retired, was an international baccalaureate program coordinator for Annandale High School in Annandale, Va. His father, who is also retired, was the senior pastor of the New Calvary Baptist Church in Norfolk, Va.
The couple, who were introduced through a mutual friend, met in March 2016 in Phoenix.
