Kelly Anne Widelska and Courtney Marie Stamm were married Aug. 23 in New York. Sarah J. Ritchie, an interfaith minister, officiated at the Dene Summerhouse in Central Park.
Ms. Widelska (left), 44, is the global head of knowledge at the International Finance Corporation, which is in Washington and is the private-sector branch of the World Bank Group. She graduated from the University of Reading, in England, and received a master’s degree in information science from the University of Sheffield, also in England.
She is a daughter of Angela Widelski and Tadeusz A. Widelski of Southwood, a hamlet in Somerset, England.
Ms. Widelska was a widow.
Ms. Stamm, 42, is the managing director of the Liaison Group, a lobbying firm in Washington focused on federal law and policy for the cannabis industry. She graduated from the University of Michigan.
She is the daughter of Barbara A. Amos of Kettering, Ohio, and David A. Stamm of Fort Wayne, Ind., and a stepdaughter of Dr. William T. Amos III.
The couple met just before Thanksgiving 2015, through a mutual friend, and, while there was a small spark between them, they didn’t connect until a few months later when the same friend invited both — and several other people — out for drinks. “It was fortuitous timing for both of us,” Ms. Stamm said.
