Katina Elizabeth Zulakis and Joshua Ekhause Harris were married Nov. 2 at the Milling Room, a restaurant in New York. Dr. Ehren Ekhause, a cousin of the groom who became a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated.
The bride, 33 is a graphic designer with the Carpenter Group, a branding and marketing communications firm in New York. She graduated from Skidmore College.
She is the daughter of Holly Hynes and Jim M. Zulakis of Teaneck, N.J. The bride’s father is director of strategic and creative media for the Dalton School, a college preparatory school in New York. Her mother is a New York-based costume designer specializing in ballet.
The groom, also 33, is an arbitrator’s clerk for Teaneck Business Associates in Teaneck, N.J. He is also studying for a Ph.D. in history of science and technology at Stony Brook University. He graduated from Rochester University and received a master’s degree in history of technology and medicine from Rutgers.
He is the son of Sandie Ekhause Harris and Dr. Joseph A. Harris of Teaneck. The groom’s mother is a Teaneck-based independent reading specialist. His father is an emeritus professor of industrial labor relations at the State University of New York at Old Westbury, and a labor arbitrator for Teaneck Business Associates.
The couple met on the first day of fifth grade at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Teaneck.
