Katie Murphy Rodihan and Heath Loring Hyatt were married Sept. 14 at the Admiral’s House, an estate in Seattle. Senator Tim Kaine, Democrat of Virginia, officiated, having been ordained by the American Marriage Ministries.
Ms. Rodihan, 27, is the national press secretary for Inslee for America, the presidential campaign of Gov. Jay Inslee, Democrat of Washington, who last month dropped out of the 2020 race. She graduated from Claremont McKenna College.
She is the daughter of Laura M. Murphy of Seattle and the late Ian A. Rodihan. Her mother is retired as the vice president for legal and government affairs at the Safeco Insurance Companies in Seattle. The bride’s father was a lawyer in private practice in Seattle.
Mr. Hyatt, 29, is an associate at Perkins Coie, a law firm in Seattle. He also graduated from Claremont McKenna College and received a law degree magna cum laude from Harvard.
He is a son of Lori R. Cleaves and Richard J. Hyatt of Seattle. His mother is a certified public accountant in private practice in Seattle. His father is of counsel at Ryan, Swanson & Cleveland, a law firm in Seattle.
The couple met in 2011 in a government class in college. Their first date was a walk around the National Mall and Constitution Lake in 2012, and their relationship developed while they were campaigning for Mr. Kaine in Virginia in 2012.
