Dr. Alexandria Katherine Maurer and Dr. Daniel Andrew Okin were married Feb. 8 at the Dane Estate, an events space in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Stephen D. Okin, the groom’s brother who received a one-day marriage designation from the state of Massachusetts, officiated.
Dr. Maurer, 30, who is known as Katie, is a fellow in medical oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. She graduated from the University of Rochester and received both a Ph.D. in immunology and a medical degree from N.Y.U. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
She is the daughter of Angie A. Maurer and Gregory S. Maurer of Enid, Okla. The bride’s father, who is retired, was a construction inspector at Vance Air Force Base in Enid. Her mother is the owner of Joseph’s Hairstylists, a beauty salon, in Enid.
Dr. Okin, 35, is a fellow in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, also in Boston. He graduated from Columbia and received both a Ph.D. in immunology and a medical degree from Yale. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He is a son of Dr. Lisa M. DeAngelis, and Dr. Peter M. Okin of New York. The groom’s mother is a neuro-oncologist and the head physician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. His father is a cardiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
The couple met during their residency in 2017 at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
