Kathryn Joy Bowman and Patrick Bernard Haughey were married July 13 at King Family Vineyards in Crozet, Va. The Rev. Kimberly Baker Glenn, an Episcopal priest, officiated.
Ms. Bowman, 31, is a senior program officer at Results for Development Institute, an international development nonprofit organization based in Washington. She graduated from the University of Virginia and received a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia.
The bride is the daughter of Ellen R. Bowman and W. David Bowman of Cincinnati. The bride’s father, who is retired, was the senior director of global medical affairs in Memphis for the spinal division of Medtronic, a medical technology company based in Fridley, Minn. Previously, he retired as the senior director of global medical affairs at Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals in Cincinnati, where the bride’s mother retired as the director of global external relations for health care, pharmaceuticals, and pet care businesses.
Mr. Haughey, 32, is a systems analyst in Washington for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in the Treasury Department. He graduated from the University of Maryland.
The groom is a son of Laurie B. Haughey and F. Brad Haughey of Chevy Chase, Md. The groom’s mother is a health communications specialist in Rockville, Md. for the Health Resources and Services Administration, an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services. The groom’s father works as an electrical engineer in Greenbelt, Md., for NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.
The couple met in April 2015 in Washington through the dating app Tinder.
