Katherine Inez Guzik and Matthew John Lovett were married Sept. 14 at Gran Electrica, a restaurant in Brooklyn. Nicole Cushman, a friend of the couple who was ordained as a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated.
Ms. Guzik, 32, is the strategic consultant leading organizational development for Haven Life, the start-up arm of MassMutual. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
She is a daughter of Lizabeth A. Wellborn of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Nicholas W. Guzik of Royal Oak, Mich. The bride’s father is the account specialist in municipal way-finding systems at Signs by Crannie, a business sign company in Flint, Mich. Her mother is a customs compliance specialist at the Masco Corporation, a kitchen hardware company, in Ann Arbor. The bride is also the stepdaughter of Adrian J. Cleypool, a retired owner of Adrian’s T-shirts in Ann Arbor.
Mr. Lovett, 39, is a founder of Oz Content, a Manhattan-based software company that uses content marketing to reach targeted audiences online. He graduated with general honors from the University of Chicago.
He is a son of Sylvia E. Lovett and Michael J. Lovett of White Bear Lake, Minn. The groom’s mother retired as the program director of Connexions International, a nonprofit organization serving international students and their families in Minneapolis. His father is the former superintendent of White Bear Lake Area Schools, and is a faculty member teaching organizational leadership and education administration at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.
The couple were introduced in 2017 by a mutual friend, the late Luke Haseloff, whose widow performed the ceremony.
