Karla Patricia Perez and Jason De Los Reyes were married Dec. 12 at the Pazo de San Lorenzo, an events space in Santiago, Spain. The Rev. Ricardo Freire, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony.
Mrs. De Los Reyes, 35, is a kindergarten teacher at the Basilica School of St. Mary in Alexandria, Va. She graduated from George Mason University, from which she also received a masters of arts degree in developmental psychology. She also received a master’s degree in early childhood education and special education from Catholic University of America.
She is a daughter of Maria E. Perez and Daniel E. Perez of Alexandria. The bride’s father is a chauffeur for Fleet Transportation in Alexandria. Her mother is an independent caregiver in Fairfax, Va.
Mr. De Los Reyes, 37, is a lead associate for Booz Allen Hamilton, a technology consulting company in McLean, Va. He graduated from the University of Phoenix, and received a master’s degree in information systems technology from George Washington University. He is also a three-time Iraq War veteran with the Army, for which he served as a military intelligence systems integrator. He was last stationed at Fort Huachuca, having achieved the rank of staff sergeant.
He is a son of Janie De Los Reyes and Fernando C. De Los Reyes of Key West, Fla. The groom’s mother was a stay-at-home parent. His father, a retired Army first sergeant, is now an analyst for the Department of the Army at the Key West Naval Air Station in Florida.
The couple met in 2017 on the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel.
