Kara Allyn Morgenstern and Charles Edward Gary were married June 29 in Island Park, N.Y. Rabbi Jack M. Zanerhaft officiated at Bridgeview Yacht Club.
Mrs. Gary, 31, is the chief of speech pathology at Metropolitan Hospital in New York. She graduated from the University of Virginia and received a master’s degree in speech pathology from the University of Florida. She is now a candidate for a master’s degree in health administration at Columbia.
She is a daughter of Linda Levine Morgenstern and Mark J. Morgenstern of Long Beach, N.Y. The bride’s father retired as a lawyer in private practice in New York. Her mother is the executive vice president for sales in the New York office of the Godinger Silver Art Company, a dinnerware and giftware manufacturer.
Mr. Gary, 32, is a senior associate counsel in the legal department for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York, and is in charge of real estate condemnation. He graduated from the State College of New York at Geneseo, and received a law degree from Albany Law School.
He is the son of Barbara N. Gary and David S. Gary of Syosset, N.Y. The groom’s parents, both lawyers, are retired. His mother was a counsel at Marshall & Marshall in Jericho, N.Y. His father was a litigation counsel at Travelers, the insurance company; he worked in the company’s Melville, N.Y., office.
The couple met in 2015 through the dating website OkCupid.
