Julia Claire Winn and Thomas William Buckley are to be married Sept. 1. T. Ryan Schoen, a friend of the couple who was ordained through American Marriage Ministries in order to preside at this event, is to officiate at the Pearl, an events space in San Francisco.
The couple met at Harvard, from which each graduated, he cum laude. They both now work as product managers at Google in Mountain View, Calif., she in the artificial intelligence unit, and he on the Chromebooks team.
Ms. Winn, 30, is a daughter of Jane Kaufman Winn and Peter A. Winn of Seattle. The bride’s father is the acting chief privacy and civil-liberties officer at the United States Justice Department in Washington. Her mother is a professor of law at the University of Washington’s School of Law in Seattle.
Mr. Buckley, 29, is the son of Gloria E. Leipzig and William P. Buckley of Belmont, Mass. The groom’s mother is a commissioner of the Belmont Housing Authority and a director of Neville Communities, an organization that oversees a nursing home and assisted living center in Cambridge, Mass. She retired as the operations director at the Cambridge Housing Authority, which oversees federally subsidized apartments in Cambridge. His father retired as a market research consultant in Belmont.
