Julia Rose McCarty and John Rudolph von Arx IV were married Oct. 12 at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields. Ira S. Maher, a friend of the couple and a Universal Life minister, officiated.
Mrs. von Arx, 33, is the event and regulatory coordinator for the Susan G. Komen Tissue Bank at the Indiana University Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis. She graduated from George Washington University.
She is the daughter of Karen L. Gentleman and Michael P. McCarty of Indianapolis. The bride’s parents own the market research business Gentleman McCarty in Indianapolis.
Mr. von Arx, 37, is a budget analyst at the Indiana State Budget Agency in Indianapolis. He graduated from Indiana University. He is also a basketball referee for the Indiana State High School Athletic Association.
He is a son of Dana S. Bacon of Zionsville, Ind., and John R. von Arx III of Indianapolis. The groom’s mother was a stay-at-home parent. His father, who works in Indianapolis, is the president and chief executive of the Volunteers of America of Ohio and Indiana. The groom is a stepson of Jean Wojtowicz and Rick Bacon. The groom’s stepmother is the president of Cambridge Capital Management in Indianapolis. His stepfather retired as a machinist at Caterpillar in West Lafayette, Ind.
The couple met in October 2017 in Indianapolis. They were introduced to each other by the bride’s mother and the groom’s stepmother, who were friends.
