John Richard Curtis and John Elliott De Wald Jr. were married Aug. 3 at the Savile Club in London. Sian Melhuish, a deputy registrar for the City of Westminster in London borough.
Mr. Curtis (left), 34, is a senior clerk in London at the House of Commons Library. He graduated from King’s College London.
He is a son of Ann Curtis-Mills of Wendover, Buckinghamshire, and the late Richard Simon Curtis. Mr. Curtis’s mother is a teaching assistant at Our Ladies Roman Catholic School in Buckinghamshire. His father was a chartered accountant, partner and later chairman at Alliott’s, an accountancy and professional services firm in London.
Mr. De Wald, 35, is a tax consultant in London for KPMG, an accounting firm. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown with a year of study at the University of Oxford, and received a master’s degree in English literature from University College London.
He is the son of Claudia J. De Wald and John E. De Wald Sr. of Grosse Pointe Shores, Mich. Mr. De Wald’s mother retired as a high school English literature teacher before becoming a stay-at-home parent. His father is a partner in P.A. Commercial, a commercial real estate brokerage firm in Detroit.
The couple met online in April 2012.
