Jessie Sayre Duncan and Michael David Gottesman were married June 15 in Siasconset, Mass., on the island of Nantucket. Eric J. Gottesman, a brother of the groom, officiated after receiving permission from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Ms. Duncan, 36, is an expert and project leader, specializing in global health and social impact projects, in the New York office of the Boston Consulting Group. She graduated from Stanford and received an M.B.A. from Dartmouth and a master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton.
She is the daughter of Cherie Burns and Richard L. Duncan of Taos, N.M. Her mother is the author of “Diving for Starfish: The Jeweler, the Actress, the Heiress and One of the World’s Most Alluring Pieces of Jewelry” (St. Martins Press, 2018) and other nonfiction books. Her father retired as an executive editor of Time magazine in New York.
Mr. Gottesman, 39, is a counsel in the New York office of the law firm WilmerHale. He graduated magna cum laude from Yale, from which he also received a law degree. He also received a master’s degree in international relations from the Cambridge University.
He is a son of Jean Corey Gottesman and David M. Gottesman of Nashua, N.H. His mother is a trustee of New Hampshire Public Radio, in Concord, and of the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, N.H. His father is a founding partner in the law firm Gottesman & Hollis, a law firm in Nashua, and was a state senator from 2004 to 2008.
The couple met in 2015 on Hinge, a dating app, and had their first date in New York.
