Jenna Paige Sakwa and Jacob Ian Kastan were married Nov. 17 at Franklin Hills Country Club in Franklin, Mich. Rabbi Paul Yedwab officiated.
The couple, both 30, met through a mutual friend in the Washington office of Representative Paul D. Ryan, the House speaker, for whom the bride serves as director of media affairs, and the groom as political director for Team Ryan, Mr. Ryan’s political organization.
Mrs. Kastan, who was an editorial producer at CBS News in New York and Washington from 2010-17, graduated from the University of Michigan.
She is a daughter of Meryl J. Sakwa and Dr. Marc P. Sakwa of Birmingham, Mich. The bride’s father is the chief of cardiovascular surgery at Beaumont Health in Royal Oak, Mich.
Mr. Kastan, who previously served as Mr. Ryan’s personal aid during the Romney-Ryan presidential campaign, graduated from Tufts and received an M.B.A. from Georgetown.
He is a son of Holly S. Kastan and Bradley R. Kastan of Columbus, Ohio. The groom’s mother is a founder of the Ohio State University Department of Psychiatry’s STAR Program. His father is a senior vice president for investments and managing director in the Columbus office of Raymond James & Associates, a financial services firm.
