Jane Xi Chen and Prateek Kumar were married July 13 at the Desmond Hotel in Albany. Bishop Christopher Richard of the Old Catholic Order of Paul the Apostle officiated, with Pandit Shridhara Jayateerthachar taking part in a ceremony incorporating both Catholic and Hindu traditions.
The bride and groom met at Harvard, from which each graduated, he magna cum laude and she cum laude.
Ms. Chen, 28, is the founder of JXC Enterprises, a consultancy in Colonie, N.Y., affiliated with Lacuna, an asset management fund based in Regensburg, Germany.
She is the daughter of Tianming Chen and Minyao Chen of New York. The bride’s father is a self-employed structural engineer based in New York. The bride’s mother was a stay-at-home parent.
Mr. Kumar, 29, is the founder of Kumar Capital Partners, an investment management firm based in Colonie.
He is the son of Nilam Kumar and Aseem Kumar of Albany. The groom’s mother is a nurse at Van Rensselaer Manor, a rehabilitation facility in Troy, N.Y. The groom’s father is an environmental engineer for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in Albany.
