Jana Shorr Elfenbein and Andrew Flynn Porter were married on May 7. Norman H. Pentelovitch, the groom’s brother-in-law and a Universal Life minister, officiated at Casa de Monte Vista, an events space in Palm Springs, Calif.
Mrs. Porter, 30, works for Google in Austin, Tex. She is an associate lead managing a team of people who recruit sales staff for the company’s cloud business. She graduated from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa.
She is a daughter of Linda A. Elfenbein and Dr. Leslie R. Elfenbein of North Caldwell, N.J. The bride’s father is an endodontist in private practice in Clifton, N.J., and is also the director of both endodontics and specialty services at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, N.J. Her mother is a senior vice president for fiduciary services in the private bank, in New York, of HSBC, the British bank.
Mr. Porter, 34, is a senior sales director in Austin for Anheuser-Busch, the St. Louis brewing company. He is also a founding member of the Boxer Bowtie Club, an organization in New York that supports organizations that help children. He graduated from N.Y.U.
He is a son of Brian A. E. Porter of Westport, Conn., and the late Aleta Taylor Porter. The groom’s father is the director for corporate partnerships at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Conn. The groom’s mother was the director of the St. Louis chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The couple met in 2016 in New York through the dating app Bumble.
