Dr. Jacqueline Hannah Penn and Alexander Jared Deutsch are to be married Feb. 16 at the Rainbow Room in New York. Rabbi Maurice Salth is to officiate.
Dr. Penn, 32, is a child and adolescent psychiatry chief fellow at the University of California, San Francisco. She graduated summa cum laude from George Washington University, and received a medical degree in osteopathic medicine from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York.
She is a daughter of Emily Lewis Penn and Mark J. Penn, and a stepdaughter of Nancy Jacobson Penn and Michael J. Balick. The bride’s father is based in Washington as the managing partner in the Stagwell Group, a digital marketing investment group in Washington, and the chief executive of MDC Partners, a marketing and communication network in New York. He was also the chief strategist for the presidential campaigns of President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton. He has written several books on trends, including “Microtrends Squared.” Her mother is a residential real estate sales agent at Douglas Elliman, a New York real estate firm.
Mr. Deutsch, 34, is an executive assistant with the technology mergers and acquisitions group in the San Francisco office of Lazard, the investment bank. He is also a manager at TwoSeventy, a political strategy game app. He graduated from the University of Iowa.
He is a son of Nancy Cohen Deutsch and Joel A. Deutsch of Bettendorf, Iowa. The groom’s mother was a stay-at-home parent. His father is a lawyer in private practice in Rock Island, Ill.
The couple met through the dating app Hinge in April 2016.
