Jacqueline Christine Hurley and Alexander Hulbert Kenney were married May 18 at the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer in New York. The Rev. Luke Hoyt, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony.
Mrs. Kenney, 39, is a quantitative portfolio manager at QS Investors in New York, a financial investment firm and an affiliate of Legg Mason in Baltimore. She graduated magna cum laude from Colgate and received an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
She is a daughter of Victoria C. Hurley and Michael J. Hurley of Cohasset, Mass. The bride’s father is the owner of the Hurley Group, a commercial insurance agency in Norwell, Mass. He is the president of the South Shore Community Center in Cohasset. Her mother was a stay-at-home parent, then worked as a bookkeeper and clerk at the insurance agency until 2015.
The groom, 44, is a managing director and the global head of financial sponsor coverage in the mergers and acquisitions practice in New York at Aon, the British professional services firm. He graduated from Kenyon College, and received an M.B.A. from Columbia. He is on the board of New Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, a provider of physical and emotional rehabilitation for disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans around the country through fly fishing and related activities. It is based in LaPlata, Md.
He is the son of Charlotte O’Brien Kenney and John J. Kenney of New York. The groom’s mother worked, until 1988, in New York as a vice president and the head credit officer of the Citibank money market division of Citicorp, and then was a stay-at-home parent. His father retired as a partner in the New York law firm Simpson Thacher and Bartlett, and is currently a partner in the New York law firm Hoguet Newman Regal & Kenney. He is a trustee of Bennington College in Vermont.
The couple met in February 2015 through the dating app Hinge and hit it off right away when they went out for drinks in New York. When Ms. Hurley was diagnosed with breast cancer, Mr. Kenney stood by her during the monthslong treatments. In April 2018, he proposed on the grand staircase of the Knickerbocker Club in New York.
