She graduated cum laude and received both a master’s degree, in liberal studies, and a graduate certificate, in nonprofit management, from Villanova.
She is a daughter of Cecilia Kirk Nelson and Jeffrey O. Nelson of Wilmington. The bride’s father is the senior vice president and the chief academic officer of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, an educational foundation and publisher in Wilmington. Her mother is the publications manager for the Kirk Center.
Mr. Dobbs, 26, was until June a religion, writing and Latin teacher at St. Paul’s Choir School in Cambridge, Mass. In September, he will be a first-year law student at Harvard. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard and received a master’s degree in Greek and Latin literature, with distinction, from Oxford University in England.
He is a son of Dr. Debra A. Desilet-Dobbs and Larry R. Dobbs of Wichita, Kan. The groom’s mother, a pediatric radiologist, is a partner in the Wichita Radiological Group and is also a clinical assistant professor at the Wichita campus of the University of Kansas School of Medicine. The groom’s father is the president of Dobbs Real Estate, a company in Wichita that manages residential properties.
The bride and groom met in 2013 at a conference for college students at the Kirk Center, and began dating in 2015, when they were both summer interns in Washington.
