Hannah Rose Peck and Brian Logan Beirne were married Oct. 14 in Dublin. The Very Rev. Paul Ward performed the ceremony at St. Mochta’s Roman Catholic Church.
The bride, 36, will continue to use her name professionally. She is an assistant dean and the director of student affairs at Yale, from which she received a Master of Divinity degree with a certificate from the Institute of Sacred Music. She is also on the advisory board of Y2Y New Haven, which is developing a homeless shelter for young adults. She graduated from the University of Texas, and served in AmeriCorps in 2005 and 2006, as a literacy instructor at Public School 48 in the Bronx.
She is the daughter of Kaaren M. Peck and Daniel W. Peck of New Castle, Colo. Her father designs and builds furniture in New Castle, and also works for Aren Design, an architectural woodworking studio in Vail, Colo. Her mother is the director of volunteers at Grand River Health, a hospital and clinical service provider in Rifle, Colo.
The groom, 38, is known as Logan. He is the chief executive of Matterhorn Transactions, a provider of market-trend analytics in Milford, Conn. He is also a research scholar and lecturer in law, teaching financial markets and corporate law, at Yale Law School. He is also the author of “Blood of Tyrants: George Washington & the Forging of the Presidency” (Encounter Books, 2013). He graduated summa cum laude from Fairfield University, and was a Fulbright scholar in 2003-4 at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where he studied economics. He received a law degree from Yale.
He is a son of Sheila Logan Beirne of Milford and the late Thomas J. Beirne Jr. The groom’s mother was a fashion buyer for the May Department Stores, in Manhattan, before becoming a stay-at-home parent. His father was the executive vice president of Thompson Peck, an insurance company in New Haven, Conn., and was also the chairman of the board of aldermen in Milford.
The couple met in 2017 at a Yale hockey game, while waiting in line to get free drinks in the university’s fan room. They exchanged numbers, texted for a couple of weeks and had their first date, over drinks and dinner, at a bar in New Haven.
