Grace Harriette Eubank and Ryan Joseph Beck were married Oct. 4 in Brooklyn. Ahri Findling, a friend of the couple ordained by the American Marriage Ministries, officiated at the Picnic House in Prospect Park.
Ms. Eubank, 31, is the assistant director for special events at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh.
She is a daughter of Annette Masterson Eubank and Julian E. Eubank III of Point Pleasant, Pa. The bride’s father is a freelance theatrical designer and technical director whose recent projects include consulting on the renovation of the Performance Garage, a dance space in Philadelphia. Her mother is a genealogist, and is also the parish historian at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Lambertville, N.J.
Mr. Beck, 31, is a comedian who appeared in August on “Alternatino,” and in July on “This Week at the Comedy Cellar,” both shows on the Comedy Central network. He graduated from the University of Missouri.
He is a son of Suzanne M. Beck and Mark W. Beck of Warrensburg, Mo. The groom’s mother is an international student adviser at the University of Central Missouri. His father retired as a colonel in the Air National Guard at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, where he was a maintenance-group and support-group commander. He is now the facilities assistant at Northside Christian Church in Warrensburg.
The couple met in 2013 at the Great GoogaMooga, a music and food festival in Prospect Park, when a mutual friend introduced them. She was dating someone else at the time. They bumped into each other a few times over the next year, and in 2014 they struck up a conversation at a Brooklyn bar. She was no longer dating someone else, so said she was free Tuesday and Thursday, and he said, “O.K., I’ll pick where we go Tuesday, you pick Thursday.”
