Gloria Choi and Alex Jong Hwang were married Oct. 18 at the New Haven Lawn Club, an events space in New Haven, Conn. The Rev. Stephen J. Ro, a Presbyterian minister, officiated.
Ms. Choi, 37, is a senior vice president in Manhattan for FCB Health, a health care advertising agency. She graduated from the University of Rochester and received an M.B.A. from N.Y.U.
She is a daughter of Helen Choi and Myung Sup Choi of Elmhurst, Queens. The bride’s father, who is retired, was a driver for Prime Time Limo in Manhattan. Her mother, who is retired, was a United States Postal Service clerk in White Plains, N.Y.
Mr. Hwang, 35, is a senior counsel at Travelers, an insurance company in Hartford, Conn. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in Storrs and received a law degree from Boston College.
He is the son of Sook Young Hwang and Jong Tae Hwang of South Windsor, Conn. The groom’s mother and father own Stafford Cleaners & Laundry, a dry cleaning business in Stafford, Conn.
The couple met in December 2017 through mutual friends and went on their first date in Manhattan’s West Village later that month.
