During the Depression, the Federal Writers’ Project enlisted writers across the country to document American themes. In New York, there was a prolific output, which included works on architecture and a guidebook. “Feeding the City,” about the food of New York, was supposed to be a book, but was never published. Manuscripts and photographs from the project are on display through March in the Surrogate’s Court building.
