Frances Sargent Cheever and Andrew Shichen Ong were married Sept. 28 at the Pittsburgh Golf Club in Pittsburgh. Nora Barry Fischer, a senior district judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, officiated.
Ms. Cheever, 36, works in Menlo Park, Calif., as a senior associate for Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, a law firm based in San Francisco. She graduated from Harvard and received a law degree from Georgetown.
She is a daughter of Meg D. Cheever and George M. Cheever of Pittsburgh. The bride’s father is a senior of counsel at K & L Gates, a law firm in Pittsburgh. Her mother, who is retired, is the founder and a former chief executive of the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.
Mr. Ong, 35, is a senior associate at Goodwin Procter in Redwood City, Calif. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and received a law degree from U.C.L.A.
He is a son of Meiling L. Ong and Stephen S. Ong of Fremont, Calif. The groom’s mother, who is retired, was a software engineer at the Oracle Corporation, a software company in Redwood City, Calif. His father is a vice president of engineering at Cisco Systems, a software company in San Jose, Calif.
The couple met in 2011 as associates in the intellectual property litigation group at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
