Food and eating figure into some of the whimsical interactive works by the American artist Mark Dion that now dot the Storm King Art Center’s more than 500 acres and museum in the Hudson Valley. Called follies, they’re small structures and sheds that the visitor can enter or peer into, like “Hunting Blind (The Glutton)” with a table set for a meal of game, with fish and animal motifs on the dinnerware. There’s also an octagonal little greenhouse, “The Conservatory for Confectionery Curiosities” (a collaboration with the artist Dana Sherwood), stacked with molded “desserts” made of resin with beautiful fake insects randomly stuck to them. They’re displayed on elaborate footed dishes. “The Conservatory” was previously on view in the Tuileries Gardens in Paris.
