Eva Hoon Elmore and Marcus Zane Welch were married Oct. 12 at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at the General Theological Seminary in New York. The Rev. Dr. Tyson-Lord Gray, a Baptist minister, performed the ceremony.
The bride, 25, and the groom, 26, work at Quadio, an artist-forward music streaming platform in New York. She is a user-interface designer; he is the company’s founder and chief executive.
The bride graduated from Oberlin College. She is a daughter of Patricia A. Elmore, who goes by Fred, and John R. Elmore Jr. of Middletown, Conn. Her father is the art director at Wesleyan University’s Center for the Arts in Middletown. Her mother is an early childhood teacher at the Middlefield Children’s Center in Middlefield, Conn.
The groom graduated from Cornell. He is the son of Suzy Welch and the stepson of Jack Welch of New York and Palm Beach, Fla. His mother is a special correspondent at CNBC and the host of its digital show, “Get to Work.” She is also the author of “10/10/10.” His stepfather retired as the chairman and chief executive of General Electric and is a founder and the executive chairman of the Jack Welch Management Institute, an online educational institution based in Herndon, Va. The groom’s parents have written two books together, “Winning” and “The Real Life MBA.”
The bride and groom met in 2010 while in high school at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H., when they were set up by Mr. Welch’s cousin, also a student there.
