Esther Rachel Gibofsky and Adam Charles Rattner were married Feb. 29 at Guastavino’s, an events space in Manhattan. Rabbi Haskel Lookstein officiated.
The bride, 34, who is taking her husband’s name, is a marketing strategist focusing on digital advertising at Google in Manhattan. She graduated from Northwestern and received an M.B.A. from N.Y.U.
She is a daughter of Karen B. Gibofsky and Dr. Allan Gibofsky of Manhattan. The bride’s father, a rheumatologist, is an attending physician and a director of the clinic for inflammatory arthritis at Hospital for Special Surgery, as well as an attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. He is also a professor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine there. Her mother is a sales executive at Bake Me a Wish, an online company in Manhattan focusing on gourmet baked goods for corporate gifts. The bride’s mother is on the board, as is the groom, of the Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy, a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation of historic synagogues on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, which also sponsors walking tours.
The groom, 37, is the general counsel at MonitorMe, a medical device start-up in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He graduated from Union College and received a law degree from Quinnipiac University.
He is the son of Abbe Milgrim Rattner and David Rattner of Greenburgh, N.Y. The groom’s mother retired as a reading teacher at Public School 81 in the Bronx. She is now a part-time reading/English as a second language tutor in Westchester County. His father retired as a senior vice president in information technology at Prudential Investments in Manhattan. He now tutors mainly high school math at the Scarsdale, N.Y., branch of Mathnasium, an educational service that is based in Los Angeles.
The groom’s previous marriage ended in divorce.
The couple were introduced in summer 2017 through the dating app Coffee Meets Bagel, and after exchanging a few messages, they continued their conversation on the phone, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. They had their first date that morning at 6, after Mr. Rattner drove to Manhattan from White Plains to meet with Ms. Gibofsky at Gramercy Bagels before work.
