Emily Ann McAllister and Aaron Edward Katz were married Aug. 3. Charles S. McKeown, an uncle of the groom who became a First Nation minister for this event, officiated at a private ski area in Olympic Valley, Calif.
Ms. McAllister, 29, is a creative producer and leads a marketing team at Northstar California, a ski resort in Truckee, Calif., that is part of the Vail Resorts Management Company. She graduated from Cornell and received an M.B.A. from Cornell Tech, which is a joint venture of Cornell and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology located on Manhattan’s Roosevelt Island.
She is the daughter of Diane G. McAllister and Dr. Mark D. McAllister of Reno, Nev. The bride’s father is a neuroradiologist at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno. Her mother is a freelance wildlife photographer whose work was included in an exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington in 2016 and 2017.
Mr. Katz, 32, is the director of acquisitions at Oscilloscope Laboratories, an independent film distribution company in Brooklyn. He graduated from Syracuse.
He is the son of Sharyn S. Katz of Philadelphia. The groom’s mother retired as the manager of the neurophysiology laboratory and technical director of the inpatient epilepsy unit at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
The couple met in 2011 when the bride also worked at Oscilloscope Laboratories, as an office assistant, and they had their first date in 2012 in Manhattan, after she had left the company.
