Emily Marie David and Nicholas Bancroft Farrell were married Aug. 3 at Carmel Mission Basilica in Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif. The Rev. Stan De Boe, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony.
The bride, 28, and groom, 29, founded Bites Media, an online news platform for middle school and high school students in Los Angeles. She serves as the company’s head of education, and he as chief executive.
Mrs. Farrell graduated from the University of Maryland, from which she also received a master’s degree in special education.
She is a daughter of Kimberly L. David and Scott B. David of Baltimore.
Mr. Farrell graduated from Denison University.
He is the son of Martha C. Farrell and Thomas V. Farrell of New York.
The couple were introduced through mutual friends in Chicago in March 2014.
