Elizabeth Bowen Wood and Lane Michael Polozola were married July 20 at the bride’s childhood home in Seattle. Clare A. Diegel, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated.
The bride, who is 31 and known as Ellie, is the regional director for Europe for international strategy and business development at Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Seattle. She was previously a regional director of environmental strategy at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, as well as the chairwoman of the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group, a coalition committed to advancing the use of sustainable fuel. She graduated from Colorado College and received a master’s degree in international environmental policy from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, Calif.
She is the daughter of Mary F. Wood and Steven L. Wood of Seattle. The bride’s father is the principal and managing director of Century Pacific, a real estate advisory firm in Seattle. Her mother is the founder and principal of Mary Finn Wood Design, an interior design firm, also in Seattle.
The groom, 33, is a civil rights lawyer currently serving as an assistant attorney general in the civil rights division of Washington State’s attorney general office. He graduated from Louisiana State University.
He is a son of Staci V. Polozola of Baton Rouge, La., and Dale S. Polozola of Melville, La. The groom’s mother is the career and technical education supervisor for the Livingston Parish Public School system in Livingston, La. His father, who works in Baton Rouge, is the information technology director for the Louisiana District Attorney’s Association. The groom is also a stepson of Barry Serou and Sharron Polozola.
The couple met in 2013 through the dating app OkCupid.
