Dr. Elizabeth Anne Tubridy and Jonathan White Peters Jr. were married June 8 at St. Paul’s Church in Riverside, Conn. The Rev. Stephanie Johnson, an Episcopal priest, performed the ceremony.
Dr. Tubridy-Peters, 27, is a second-year obstetrics and gynecology resident at N.Y.U. Langone in Manhattan. She graduated from Georgetown and received a medical degree Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.
She is a daughter of Erica G. Tubridy and Gary S. Tubridy of Riverside, Conn. The bride’s father is a senior vice president at the Alexander Group, a consulting firm in Vero Beach, Fla. Her mother, who is retired, was an assistant admissions director at Greenwich Country Day School in Greenwich, Conn.
Mr. Peters, who is 31 and known as Jono, is an associate in leveraged finance at Citigroup in Manhattan. From 2011 to 2015, he served as an artillery officer in the United States Marine Corps, deploying in 2013-14 to Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He graduated from Hamilton College and received an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia.
He is the son of Margaret Pierce Peters and Jonathan White Peters Sr. of Rye, N.Y. The groom’s mother is a landscape designer based in Rye. His father, who is retired, was a managing director in credit sales at Deutsche Bank in Manhattan.
The couple met in Connecticut at Riverside Yacht Club in 2006, and in November 2011, when the bride was a student at Georgetown and the groom a second lieutenant stationed at the Basic School in Quantico, Va., he reached out one night out to see if she was interested in getting together at a bar in Georgetown. She said yes and they began dating steadily a few months later.
