Elizabeth King and Dr. Allen Franklin Shih were married June 8 at the Morristown Church-on-the-Green in Morristown, N.J. The Rev. Dr. Brandon Cho, a United Methodist minister, performed the ceremony.
The couple, both 27, met at Yale, from which the bride received a law degree and the groom received an M.B.A. and a medical degree.
Ms. King is a lawyer for Davis Polk & Wardwell, a law firm in New York. She graduated cum laude from Dartmouth.
She is the daughter of Mei-Tsu Shieh and K. Clarence King of Austin, Tex. The bride’s father is the president of the TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company, a motor manufacturer based in Round Rock, Tex. The bride’s mother, who is retired, was a virology researcher at the University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Shih is a medical resident at the Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J. In July, he is to begin a combined residency and faculty program in dermatology at Boston University. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard, from which he also received a master’s degree in chemistry.
He is the son of Dr. Anling Huang and Frank Y. Shih of Morris Plains, N.J. The groom’s mother, who is retired, was a dentist with a private practice in Newark. His father is a professor of computer science and the director of the computer vision laboratory at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark.
