Elise Schmidt and Alexander Bal were married March 2 at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York. The Rev. Scott B. Johnston, a Presbyterian minister, performed the ceremony, with the Rev. Vincent D’Agostino, a Roman Catholic priest, taking part.
Mrs. Bal, 31, is a vice president at Goldman Sachs in New York. She graduated from Duke. She is also the president and a founder of the junior board for the Harmony Program, a nonprofit organization that provides after-school music education to students across New York City.
She is a daughter of Elise Schmidt and Timothy Schmidt of Wyckoff, N.J.
Mr. Bal, 34, is a hedge fund analyst at Owl Creek Asset Management in New York. He graduated from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass. He also received an M.B.A. from Harvard.
He is the son of Mari Miller-Bal and Rajeev Bal of Milwaukee.
The couple met in New York on a blind date set up by a mutual friend in February 2016.
