Eleanor Douglas Mills and James Harvey Howe V were married Sept. 7 in Washington at St. John’s Episcopal Church Georgetown Parish. Rev. Sarah Duggin, an Episcopal priest, officiated.
The bride and groom, both 27, met at the University of Vermont, from which each graduated.
Ms. Mills is a public relations professional at FleishmanHillard, a marketing agency in St. Louis.
She is a daughter of Katherine F. Mills and Douglas S. Mills of Arlington, Va. The bride’s father is a photojournalist for The New York Times. Her mother is the director of audio services for C-SPAN, the nonprofit television network covering public affairs.
Mr. Howe is an investment analyst for the Summit Real Estate Group in St. Louis.
He is the son of Mary Brenton Howe and Mr. Howe IV of St. Louis. The groom’s mother retired as the chairman of the board at the Whitfield School, an independent secondary coeducational school in St. Louis. His father is an insurance broker at the Daniel & Henry Company in St. Louis.
The groom’s great-great-grandfather, James Howe, invented Tums, the antacid tablets, in 1928.
The couple met in 2010 when the two had an environmental studies class together as college freshmen.
