Dora Epelboim and Daniel Jacob Schreiber are to be married Aug. 25 at the North Ritz Club in Syosset, N.Y. Rabbi Irwin Huberman is to officiate, with Cantor Gustavo Gitlin to take part.
The couple, both 27, met in Waltham, Mass., at Brandeis University, from which they graduated.
From 2010 to 2012, the bride served in the Israel Defense Force as a sergeant, assisting international organizations with humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
She is a daughter of Vivian Epelboim and Jacobo Epelboim of Tel Aviv. The bride’s parents own Lavanderia, a dry-cleaning business in Ramat Gan, Israel.
The groom is a certified ServiceNow administrator for Toast, a software technology company in Boston that services the restaurant industry.
He is a son of Betsy Cutler Schreiber and Dr. Carl Schreiber of Glen Head, N.Y. The groom’s mother is a clinical educator at the Ladge Speech and Hearing Center at the Long Island University Post campus. She is also an artist and a founder of 3Genarts Associates, which promotes her watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings, several of which are on display at Congregation Tifereth Israel in Glen Cove, N.Y. The groom’s father is the chief of cardiology at Glen Cove Hospital, Northwell Health System.
