Each May, hundreds of events — trade shows, exhibitions, product introductions and panel discussions — are hosted as part of NYCxDesign, a festival of all things related to architecture as well as furniture, product, fashion, interior and graphic design, and more. Here are highlights of the seventh edition.

“Aldo Bakker: Slow Motion” at Carpenters Workshop Gallery
Carpenters Workshop Gallery’s exhibition of work by the Dutch designer Aldo Bakker presents sculptural stools, tables and vessels rendered in stone, metal, porcelain, plastic foam and Japanese lacquer.

“An Accelerated Culture” at Friedman Benda
The show’s curators, Libby Sellers and Brent Dzekciorius, drew inspiration from Douglas Coupland’s seminal 1991 novel “Generation X: Tales for an Accelerated Culture.” They have gathered furniture and objects by provocative Generation X designers such as Maarten Baas, Tord Boontje, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Matali Crasset, Konstantin Grcic and Thomas Heatherwick.

Kips Bay Decorator Show House
The nation’s most hotly anticipated and widely studied show house has returned for the 47th time. Two dozen design and architecture firms were given free rein in a 12,425 square-foot townhouse on the Upper East Side, transforming it with their most creative, and lavish, ideas. Participants include established figures like Charlotte Moss, Cullman & Kravis, Peter Pennoyer, Sheila Bridges and Vicente Wolf, as well as newer talents like Corey Damen Jenkins, Jennifer Cohler Mason, Paloma Contreras, Studio DB and Young Huh. The designers Brian Gluckstein and Katherine Newman of Canada have brought stylish proposals from north of the border. All proceeds benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club.

“Le Corbusier and His Associates” at Magen H Gallery
The gallery’s exhibition features more than 40 works by the modernist master architect Le Corbusier for commissions in France and India.

“Lina Bo Bardi & Giancarlo Palanti, Studio d’Arte Palma” at Gladstone 64
Gladstone’s Upper East Side outpost presents an exhibition focused on the 20th-century work of the Italian-born, Brazil-based architects Lina Bo Bardi and Giancarlo Palanti.

“Scrapbook, McMillen Inc.” at The Gallery at 200 Lex powered by Incollect
A gallery space of furniture dealers is showing archival material — renderings, newspaper clippings and photos — from the 95-year-old interior design firm McMillen.

“The Chair” at The Future Perfect

“Corks” at Kasmin
The art gallery Kasmin is showing cork furniture, including bookshelves, tables and chairs, conceived by the British designer Jasper Morrison.
Brooklyn Designs
More than 60 Brooklyn-based designers, artisans and related companies present their latest offerings alongside installations by Cooler Gallery, Head Hi and the Textile Arts Center; a music listening lounge; and design-related talks, including a keynote by the architect Claire Weisz and the Brooklyn Navy Yard chief executive David Ehrenberg.

“Deeper Than Text” at 1stdibs Gallery

Design Pavilion
A bevy of installations and events takes over Times Square plazas for Design Pavilion. Highlights include a landlocked 60 foot-long, 50,000-pound yacht from Azimut|Benetti Group; a tiny house made from unexpected materials such as sand, silica and glass by Fernando Mastrangelo Studio; the FutureHAUS solar home from Virginia Tech; a rotating carousel of chairs under a chair-shaped canopy by the School of Visual Arts; and “Sound + Vision,” new work from the American Design Club.

Nature-Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial
The Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum’s latest triennial, co-organized with Cube design museum in the Netherlands, explores projects by designers working with nature in the face of climate change and ecological crises.

WantedDesign Brooklyn
The Brooklyn outpost of the popular WantedDesign fair doubles in size this year with exhibitions and workshops spread over 50,000 square feet. Programming includes a showcase of more than 25 international design schools, an open factory hosted by the Brazilian designer Humberto Campana that will produce objects and a permanent installation, an exhibition of local designers making exquisite works from wood, and the fruits of the Transatlantic Creative Exchange, an annual project that pairs American and French designers and manufacturers to realize new objects.

Design Within Reach partners with the fashion brand Entireworld on a pop-up store that inhabits four geodesic domes in the furniture retailer’s SoHo location.

With an overarching focus this year on “conscious design” and sustainability, the Manhattan outpost of WantedDesign presents international pavilions from countries including Argentina, Mexico, Poland, Brazil, El Salvador and Egypt. ICFF
Featuring more than 900 exhibitors and attracting more than 38,000 visitors each year, the international contemporary furniture fair is the largest event of NYCxDesign. Featured areas include ICFF Studio, a showcase of furniture prototypes by emerging designers; the Milk Stand, a pop-up shop by Design Milk; and Ventura New York — the Dutch edition, which presents the work of 17 Dutch studios.
