Deborah Anne Gist and Ronnie Dale Jobe are to be married Dec. 22 at their home in Tulsa, Okla. The Rev. Courtney Richards, a Disciples of Christ minister, is to officiate, with the Rev. Mark R. Wood, an Episcopal priest, to take part.
Dr. Gist, 53, is the superintendent of the Tulsa Public Schools. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma, and has a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of South Florida and a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard. She also received a doctorate of education in educational leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.
She is a daughter of Joyce Anne Gist and Dr. Joel K. Gist of Tulsa. The bride’s father retired as a pediatrician in private practice in Tulsa. Her mother was a stay-at-home parent.
The groom, 50, is a senior vice president of BOK Financial, a regional bank in Tulsa. He graduated from the University of Tulsa.
He is a son of the late Brenda K. Jobe and the late James R. Jobe, who lived in Tulsa. The groom’s mother was also a stay-at-home parent. His father was an independent electrician in Tulsa.
The bride’s first two marriages ended in divorce, as did the groom’s first two marriages.
The couple met in April at the Summit, a Tulsa social club, where they bonded over the songs of the Bee Gees.
