Danielle Eliza Weiss and Christopher John Byrne were married Aug. 3 at the Boston Public Library. Saul Gorman, a friend of the couple who received permission to officiate by the state of Massachusetts, led the ceremony.
The bride, 28, is studying for a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder and received a master’s degree in psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
She is the daughter of Amy G. Weiss and Irwin B. Weiss of Needham, Mass. The bride’s father is the vice president for information technology at Carbonite, a company in Boston specializing in data protection and cybersecurity. Her mother is an artist who specializes in acrylic paintings.
The groom, 31, is a vice president in the New York office of H.I.G. Capital, a private equity firm. He graduated from Wake Forest and received an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
He is a son of Claire G. Byrne and Thomas Byrne of Westfield, N.J. The groom’s mother is a registered nurse at University Hospital, Newark. His father, who is retired, was the chief of the Union, N.J., fire department.
The couple met in August 2014 while they were both studying for masters degrees in Philadelphia.
