Colleen Marie Tremont and Maj. Justin Matthew Coons were married March 2. The Rev. Daniel Beeman, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony at St Patrick Catholic Church in Charleston, S.C.
Ms. Tremont, 33, is currently pursuing an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Until May 2018, she worked in New York as an account director for the lifestyle collection of publications at Condé Nast. She graduated from Wake Forest University.
She is a daughter of Susan A. Tremont and Dr. Timothy J. Tremont of Charleston. The bride’s father is an orthodontist and a professor at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he is also a chairman of the department of orthodontics. Her mother, who is retired, was a critical-care nurse at UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh. She volunteers at the Barrier Islands Free Medical Center in Johns Island, S.C.
Major Coons, 38, is based at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. He graduated from Loyola University Chicago.
He is a son of Janet R. Devlin of Arlington Heights, Ill., and John S. Coons of Glencoe, Ill. The groom’s mother, who is retired, was an executive assistant for a family with residences in Chicago and Naples, Fla. His father is an engineering consultant who is currently working with the United States Steel Corporation and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The couple met in 2006 in Washington and dated briefly before reconnecting in 2009 after the groom returned from his second deployment to Iraq.
