Claire Marie Blaustein and Roberto Seamus Peña were married May 25 at St. Aloysius Church at Gonzaga College High School in Washington. The Rev. Gasper LoBiondo, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony.
Ms. Blaustein, 36, works in Arlington, Va., as a senior experience designer at Publicis Sapient, a digital transformation company based in Boston, where she works on the cancer.gov team at the National Cancer Institute in Rockville, Md. She graduated from Indiana University Bloomington, and received a master’s degree in music criticism from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She plays the fiddle with the Bluegrass band By & By. She also serves as the communications director for the board of the Washington chapter of American Institute of Graphic Arts.
She is the daughter of Joan S. Blaustein and Mark A. Blaustein of Philadelphia. The bride’s father is a woodworker and furniture designer in Philadelphia. Her mother, who is retired, was the director of urban forestry and ecosystem management for Philadelphia Parks and Recreation.
Mr. Peña, 37, who is known as Tito, is the coffee director for the Wydown, a coffee bar in Washington, where he selects coffee from different roasters and trains the staff. He graduated from Tufts and completed professional chef training at L’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg, Md.
He is the son of Lynn S. Moran of Bristol, R.I., and Roberto J. Peña of Arlington. The groom’s mother works in Bristol as a consultant and executive recruiter at Association Strategies, an employment agency in Alexandria, Va. His father works in Arlington as the owner of Home Building Concepts, a residential design and construction company in Falls Church, Va. He is the stepson of Thomas Moran.
They couple met in 2011 through OkCupid.
