Christina Sophia Antoniou and Vrej Vahan Tajirian were married July 20. The Rev. Deborah W. Dean, an Apostolic minister, performed the ceremony at the Unfinished Church in St. George’s, Bermuda.
The bride, 34, is a senior director for corporate development at Medidata Solutions, a health care technology company in New York, where she focuses on mergers, acquisitions and strategic investments. She graduated from Smith College and received an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
She is a daughter of Margaret E. Antoniou and Dr. Demetri Antoniou of Portland, Me. The bride’s father is an otolaryngologist in private practice in Portland. Her mother retired as the office manager of her husband’s practice.
The groom, also 34, is a vice president for strategic credit investments, in New York, at Nomura Securities, a Japanese financial services company. He graduated from Yale and also received an M.B.A. from Penn, though the couple met before either had started graduate school, in 2010, at a birthday party in New York.
He is the son of Ardemis I. Tajirian and Frederick F. Tajirian of Piedmont, Calif. The groom’s mother is an acupuncturist in private practice in Oakland, Calif. His father is a senior adviser, specializing in seismic engineering, at Chevron, the oil company in San Ramon, Calif.
