Chloe Sidney Katz and Matthew Graham Kay were married May 4 at the Asbury Park Convention Hall in Asbury Park, N.J. Diane Sutherland, a cousin of the bride who is ordained as a Universal Life Minister, officiated.
The bride, 32, is the behavioral support teacher at the Cobble Hill Playschool in Brooklyn and is a founder and partner of Listening to Learn, an organization that provides family support. She graduated from Boston University and received a dual master’s degree in early childhood intervention and early childhood special and general education from the Bank Street College of Education.
She is the daughter of Leslie Larson and Don Katz of Montclair, N.J. The bride’s father, who works in Newark, is the founder and chief executive of Audible, a producer and seller of audiobooks. Her mother is a former registered nurse in Livingston and Paterson, N.J.
The groom, 34, is a Brooklyn-based independent sound mixer for film and television. He graduated from Tufts.
He is a son of Kathleen Flynn Kay and William Kay of Montclair. The groom’s mother was both a teacher and guidance counselor at West Orange High School in West Orange, N.J. His father was a support engineer at Hewlett-Packard in the New England area.
The couple grew up in the same town and both graduated from Montclair High School, but they didn’t meet until 2015 at a bar in town.
