Chelsey Max Amelkin and Matthew Alexander Wasserman were married Oct. 11 at Frankies 457 Spuntino, a restaurant in Brooklyn. Ian Marcus Amelkin, the bride’s brother who is a Universal Life minister, officiated.
The couple, both lawyers in Manhattan, met at New York University, from which each received a law degree, he magna cum laude.
Ms. Amelkin, 31, works at the Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Defense Practice. She graduated from Duke.
She is a daughter of Donna S. Amelkin and the late Dean M. Amelkin of Parkland, Fla. The bride’s father was an owner of Ormont Graphics, a printing company in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Her mother is the chair of the English department at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
Mr. Wasserman, 34, works for Public Justice, a nonprofit law office based in Washington. He graduated from Reed College in Portland, Ore., and received a master’s degree in political science from the Sorbonne in Paris.
He is the son of Barbara C. Vonn Bulow and Dr. Marvin D. Wasserman of Manhattan. The groom’s mother is a psychiatric social worker in private practice in Manhattan. The groom’s father is a psychoanalyst in private practice in Manhattan and an associate clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia.
