Charlene Alison Schmitt and Federico Persico were married Oct. 18 at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau. A member of the New York City clerk’s office officiated.
On Nov. 9, the couple are to celebrate their marriage at Estancia Villa Maria in Buenos Aires. Lorenzo Gerardo Javier Di Fazio, the director of religious affairs for the Chamber of Deputies for the Argentine National Congress, is to lead the ceremony.
The bride, 35, is keeping her name professionally. She is an executive director of Luxury Brand Partners in New York, where she serves as the head of marketing for the hair-care brand R+Co. She graduated magna cum laude with honors from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
She is the daughter of Meeja Schmitt and John K. Schmitt of Williamsburg, Va. The bride’s father is a retired Army brigadier general and Boeing defense programs executive in Arlington, Va., where he managed defense programs for the military. He is now a part-time aerospace and defense consultant. Her mother retired was a dental and medical assistant volunteer before becoming a stay-at-home parent.
The groom, also 35, is the head of business development and investor relations at Tilden Park Capital Management, an asset manager based in New York. He is also a chartered financial analyst. He graduated from Emory University.
He is the son of Cristina G. Persico of Winnetka, Ill., and the late Jose Persico. The groom’s mother is an independent simultaneous conference interpreter and professional fitness coach in Chicago. His father was the vice president for finance at Quaker Oats Europe and Latin America.
The couple first met in January 2014 at a charity event hosted by mutual friends in New York, where they discovered they worked in the same Midtown office building. They lost touch but reconnected in April 2015 through an online dating app.
