Lt. Catherine Maureen Philbin and Dr. Colin Edward Nevins were married Oct. 20 in New York. The Rev. J. Donald Waring performed the ceremony at Grace Episcopal Church.
The bride and groom, who both serve in the Navy, met at Harvard, from which she graduated and he received a medical degree.
The bride, 26, is a nuclear surface warfare officer aboard the U.S.S. George Washington; she is stationed in Norfolk, Va.
She is the daughter of Vivian A. Philbin of Denver and the late Edward J. Philbin. The bride’s father was a major general in the United States Air Force, and retired as the commander of the New Jersey Air National Guard, which has its headquarters at McGuire Air Force Base. Her mother is a lawyer in Denver for the Federal Highway Administration.
The groom, 28, is a third-year resident in orthopedic surgery at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Portsmouth, Va. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy.
He is a son of Sheila P. Nevins and Michael E Nevins of Bridgeport, Conn. The groom’s mother is a vice president for human resources at Ashcroft, a pressure and temperature instrumentation manufacturer in Stratford, Conn. His father is a direct-marketing consultant in Bridgeport.
