Caroline Ann McMahon and Brendan Joseph Rivera were married June 1 at the Bowery Hotel in New York. Brendan Baum, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated.
Mrs. Rivera, 29, is an associate specializing in litigation and trial practice in the Manhattan office of Latham & Watkins, a law firm based in Los Angeles. She graduated from Pace University and received a law degree from Northwestern.
She is the daughter of Maria E. Peters of Mount Vernon, N.Y., and the stepdaughter of Brian Peters. The bride’s mother and stepfather retired from Verizon in Valhalla, N.Y., where her mother was a senior marketing manager and her stepfather was a senior consultant.
Mr. Rivera, 33, is an audio technician in Brooklyn for Crossley Acoustics. He received an associate degree from Westchester Community College.
He is a son of Paula Rivera and Richard Rivera of Mamaroneck, N.Y. The groom’s mother retired as an English teacher at Resurrection Grammar School in Rye, N.Y. His father, also retired, was the chief of police for the town of Mamaroneck.
The couple met through mutual friends at a house party in Brooklyn in 2009.
