Cara Mary Cusumano and Nathan Patrick Floody were married July 20 at 501 Union, an events space in Brooklyn. Lily Singer, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated.
The bride, 35, works in New York as the director of the Tribeca Film Festival, where she oversees the annual event’s programming. She graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College and received a master’s degree in cinema studies from N.Y.U.
She is the daughter of Marcia Sullivan of Coventry, R.I., and Robert F. Cusumano of Manhattan. The bride’s father is a lawyer in private practice in Manhattan, and the chief executive and founder of Legal Horizons Foundation, an advocacy organization supporting rule of law worldwide. Her mother is the executive director of the East Greenwich Rhode Island Housing Authority and chief executive of housing developer Cove Homes.
The groom, 36 is a film and television editor whose credits include “Patriot Act,” “Inside Amy Schumer,” “The Last O.G.,” and “The Who Was? Show.” He graduated from Princeton and received a master of fine arts in film from Columbia.
He is the son of Sally Fifield and the stepson of Gelston Hinds Jr. of Los Angeles. The groom’s mother is retired as a psychotherapist in private practice in Baraboo, Wis. His stepfather retired from the General Services Administration in Washington. Before retiring, the groom’s mother and stepfather owned a real property management business in Vermont and sold maple syrup and homemade ice cream at farmer’s markets throughout Stowe, Vt.
The couple met in 2014 through the dating app OkCupid.
