Candace Michael Vickery and Kimberly Vel Rose were married Dec. 31 in Greenville, S.C. Vivian L. Hunnings, who was ordained through American Marriage Ministries, officiated at the Hilton Greenville hotel.
Ms. Vickery (left), 44, is a sales associate in the Greenville office of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices C. Dan Joyner, Realtors. She graduated and received an M.B.A. from Clemson University, and received a master’s degree in cultural anthropology from the University of South Carolina.
She is the daughter of Linda A. Vickery and Leonard C. Vickery of Anderson, S.C.
Ms. Rose, 51, is a clinical mental health therapist in Greenville for Lifesource, a mental-health services provider that serves older adults in nursing homes. She graduated and received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Kentucky.
She is a daughter of Geraldine Cox of Sand Gap, Ky., and the late Gary Rose.
Ms. Rose’s previous marriage ended in divorce.
The couple were introduced by mutual friends in 2018, at a brunch in Asheville, N.C., and had their first date soon after.
The couple will both use the surname Rose after their marriage.
