Calli Erin Higgins and Lucas Paul Hafeli were married Oct. 4 at Race and Religious, an events space in New Orleans. Ashleigh Ide, who became a Universal Life Minister for the occasion, officiated.
Ms. Higgins, 34, works in New York as a software engineer for The New York Times. She graduated from N.Y.U., from which she also received a master’s degree in interactive telecommunications.
She is a daughter of Scott Michael Higgins of Charlotte, N.C., and the late Debby Weaver-Higgins who lived in Bethlehem, Pa. The bride’s father, who is retired, was the director of governance, risk, and compliance at Mazars USA, an accounting firm in New York. Her mother was a teacher’s aid at Liberty High School in Bethelem.
The bride is a stepdaughter of Lois J. Clark and Skip N. Franges.
Lucas Hafeli, 37, works in New York as an architect for Peter Pennoyer Architects. He graduated from Notre Dame.
He is a son of John David Hafeli of Asheville, N.C., and the late Vita K. DeJean, who lived in Opelousas, La. The groom’s father, who is retired, was an information management strategy consultant at Clarity Insights in Chicago. His mother was a florist at Westgate Flowers in Chicago and a freelance financial planner in Oak Park, Ill.
He is a stepson of Sue E. McConnell.
The couple met in 2016 through a mutual friend in New York.
